About Me
Who is The Busy Bee?

LAUREN HURLEY
CEO • Founder • Certified Yoga Instructor
I’ll be honest, my journey into practicing yoga was a reluctant one. When I
was younger, I suffered from extreme heat sensitivity, which resulted in
having heat strokes when the temperature was even the slightest bit hot. My
best friend asked me to try Hot Power Yoga, and of course, I refused due to
my health issues. She didn’t give up trying, and I’m glad she didn’t. My
first yoga class was on May 4, 2014, and since that transformative day, I
haven’t had ANY heat strokes.
Practicing yoga regularly has helped me to connect my mind and body on a
deeper level. I have become more aware of what is going on in my body and
more in-tune with what my body needs. By developing that inner awareness, I
am now able to focus my attention on my body’s abilities in the present
moment, whether it be through movement or stillness. It also helps to give
my brain the mental break it needs from the chaos of life. By day, I am a
Senior Business Systems Analyst, and by night, I am a Yoga Teacher, so
finding that balance is key for a busy bee like me!
After years of practicing, I decided I wanted to give back to the community
that has healed me so much by becoming a yoga teacher myself. I am now a RYT
200 yoga instructor and have been teaching since March 2021.
From my personal experiences and the yoga certifications I’ve completed, I
hope to help others create their own version of a balanced and healthy
lifestyle through the practice of yoga and meditation.
